NEW WESTMINSTER, BC – Seniors in the riding of New Westminster-Coquitlam had an opportunity today to share their concerns with Fin Donnelly, NDP candidate, as well as NDP seniors critic Wayne Marston, MP (Hamilton-Stony Creek). Donnelly and Marston spent several hours in the company of members at New Westminster’s Century House before continuing on to Dunwood House, the independent seniors living complex.
“We heard concerns about Issues such as inadequate income support, substandard health care, disappearing pensions and issues associated with accessibility,” said Donnelly. “I am looking forward to being able to bring these concerns to Ottawa and work with my NDP colleagues to ensure we get fairness for our seniors.”
MP Wayne Marston has spent his summer visiting with seniors across the country. His stop in New Westminster marks the twentieth community he has visited. Marston hopes to bring the concerns and perspective of the seniors back to Ottawa to share the concerns he heard in the House of Commons.
